The Kaiapoi Medical Centre was built in 1994 as a three doctor practice. Due to the expanding community needs of Kaiapoi, the building was extended in 2006 to its current size and now accommodates five doctors.

We are an integrated medical practice that delivers quality health care to the whole family. Our great team of doctors, nurses and administration staff have considerable experience and are able to provide expert primary health services.

Our practice uses high tech medical equipment and proven computer systems that ensure that we are able to provide best quality patient care. We have network access for hospital referrals.

Our clinical team are all participants in continuing medical education programmes.

Lavender Fields was initially planted in 1995 by Jim Curnow, when he was 64. This makes
it one of the earliest lavender farms in New Zealand. Angustifolia, Stoechas, and X Intermedia
were planted, with propagation and oil production in mind.
Jim’s daughter, Clare, and her husband Kevin have been involved
for much of this time, more extensively since 2010.
The still was commissioned in 1998. Clare has been manufacturing
her “Declare” range of products since 2011. These products all include Lavender Fields’
essential oils, and other carefully sourced oils and natural ingredients. No animal products,
parabens, sulphates or petro-chemicals are used.
Jim, played an active role in Lavender Fields, especially in the
distillation of the quality award winning essential oils, until he passed away aged 92 November the 19th 2014.
Clare and Kevin are carrying on Jim’s legacy, running the farm
and distilling the highest quality oils.

Active Explorers Kaiapoi is an exciting new Early Learning Centre about to open in May/June. The centre is beautifully designed and amazingly resourced with the highest quality and latest equipment and resources for your child to engage with. Our teachers have been selected for their passion and commitment to offering the best care and educational opportunities for your children.

Active Explorers Kaiapoi is a place of wonderment and discovery where your child will grow and develop confidence, be a creative thinker and have that independence that will enable them to be successful in their future learning journey at school.
