A Toastmasters meeting is a learn-by-doing workshop in which participants hone their speaking and leadership skills in a no-pressure atmosphere.
There is no instructor in a Toastmasters meeting. Instead, members evaluate one another’s presentations. This feedback process is a key part of the program’s success.
Meeting participants also give impromptu talks on assigned topics, conduct meetings and develop skills related to timekeeping, grammar and parliamentary procedure.
Members learn communication skills by working in the Competent Communication manual, a series of 10 self-paced speaking assignments designed to give you the foundation in public speaking.
We believe in the value of the work we do, challenging young New Zealanders to be active, extra-ordinary and adventurous...

We are a small but active group who love Rock and Roll dancing to the music of the 50’s & 60’s era.
Through weekly club nights, learners/improvers lessons and social dances we have endless fun and friendship.
New members are always welcome whether learners or experienced and our ’low key’ social club nights are an ideal way to ‘give it a go’. Check out the 'Club Dance Night' in our Events Calendar for details on where and when we meet.
We are an affiliated club to the New Zealand Amateur Rock ‘n’ Roll Association (NZARRA) and our members frequently travel to other clubs within New Zealand and Australia for great fun times.

Our family loves freshly grown vegetables and have always had a big Vegetable Garden that Our parents look after and grow at home ever since we migrated here in ChCh in 1997. In that time it was very hard to find Khmer ingredients from local supermarkets, so we turned to growing what we can ourselves and it has become a tradition for our family to have a vegetable garden.
