We want Waimakariri to make a difference globally – resilient, sustainable communities are the future – and we want to help with the districts success by sharing successful eco friendly, waste reducing, recycling projects, sharing resources, sharing success.
Welcome to Jet Thrills Christchurch
Shallow twisting streams, Turquoise blue water, North-west arch, Swaying broom, the mighty Waimakariri has it all, and since 1984 Jet Thrills have been showing thousands of international and local passengers what Jet Boating is all about!
Jet Boating is a truly unique way of seeing the lower Waimakariri’s braided river system which is constantly changing and ever challenging. Jet Thrills’ experienced drivers, speed and spin in places sometimes only centimetres deep. Our fleet of Hamilton Jet boats make easy work of the swift flowing river as it rushes from the Southern Alps to the sea.
The translation of Waimakariri is ‘cold water’, it is also very clean, which makes it very popular for salmon and trout fishing. On any of the tours provided by Jet Thrills through the Waimakariri Regional Park, one of New Zealand’s newest parks, it is possible to see the many examples of birdlife that make this area their home – Wrybills, Spur-winged Plover and Black Shag.
The address on the link is (5 Main North Rd) – we put this as it is the best GPS point for us to direct people into the Waimakariri Regional Park but our departure point is actually under the State Highway 1 Bridge, Waimakariri Regional Park. We don’t have an office here there is just the jet boat ramp
