Whats on in Kaiapoi – event – attractions
The Kaiapoi Brass Band has a very proud history going back 130 years.
We practise each Tuesday night from 7.30 -9.30, at our Bandrooms 9 Stone Street, Kaiapoi. Before a contest we may have extra practices, usually on a Sunday afternoon. We have a wide range of skill levels, as you would expect in a D grade band.
We need players in all sections, but especially cornets, trombones, and base trombone.
If you think you might like to join us, ring one of the band officers, or just come along to a practice and get the feel of the band. We have some instruments we can lend you, so don’t rush out and buy your own. We can also help you with advice on this.
Dan enlisted in the NZ Army at the age of 18 and completed an Auto Heavy Engineering apprenticeship. After several years in this job Dan moved up through the ranks and took on various mentoring, training and logistics management roles.
Dan believes that every New Zealander deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential and have a share in the Kiwi Dream of homeownership, world class health care and a well-paid job. Dan is passionate about the trades and believes that apprenticeships are vital to business and the economy. Dan is committed to improving pathways for young people to get into apprenticeships and for businesses to take on apprentices.
With the NZDF, Dan has served on several operational tours, including two to Afghanistan. It is these experiences that have helped shape Dan’s views on the importance of equality, social justice and providing opportunities for everyone to get ahead.
Some of Dan’s career highlights include deploying as part of the regional assistance mission to the Solomon Islands in 2008 and providing disaster relief to Christchurch after the 2011 earthquakes. Most recently Dan was involved with the coordination and distribution of essential supplies into Kaikoura immediately after the earthquake.
Dan and his Wife Sheree have two children, Jasper aged 5 and Madeline aged 3.

Our Statement of Faith
Here at Revolution Church we believe in, follow and love Jesus Christ, God's only son. We believe Jesus' claims in John 14:6, that he is the only way to God and the ultimate source of truth and life.
By the power of the Holy Spirit we encounter the person of Jesus in the pages of the Bible and also our daily lives. Through Jesus we understand that God is interested in humanity and that God is loving, merciful, just and good.
We believe that the purpose of all people everywhere is to reflect God's glory and enjoy relationship with God. We believe that this relationship was broken through our disobedience and rebellion, but that through Jesus' life, death and resurrection this broken relationship has been restored!
One day Jesus will return to complete the revolution that He began, to redeem and restore His creation. Until then, we believe that as members of the global Christian community we are called to extend His glorious kingdom by carrying on His work. With Jesus as our role model and in the power of God we will humbly serve both God and creation bringing healing, justice and hope to the best of our ability.
In the tradition of our church fathers, we shall follow no creed but Christ.

During the conference, we gather each morning and evening to sing praises to our great God and to hear his word taught. In 2016, Jay Behan will be opening up Genesis 37-45 and Nick Duke will be teaching from 1 John. In small groups we learn how to prepare and write Bible studies, and receive encouragement and feedback from experienced leaders. We also spend time thinking through practical aspects of Christian ministry such as evangelism, discipleship, youth work, personal holiness and much more. There's no better way to start the year than being grounded in God's word, equipped to serve him and his people, and inspired by a community of Christian brothers and sisters from around the country.
This year the Equip Conference will run both in the North Island and the South Island:
South Island: 4-8 January 2016 @ Kaiapoi

In 2010, a slow and expensive visit to a nail salon sparked the idea for sisters Lyndsey, Christy, and Keri to create a line of do-it-yourself nail wraps. Today, Jamberry is bringing you their creation: one-of-a-kind nail wraps that truly represent your signature style!
Jamberry nail wraps are made with durable materials, so smudges and streaks are never an issue, and can last for up to two weeks on fingernails and four weeks on toes.
